Some of the boys' teams are basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and wrestling. For girls, the varsity teams include volleyball, soccer, tennis, golf, and basketball. Along with the varsity sports teams, there are also Spirit teams in Cheerleading and the Indianettes Dance Team. Teams are known as the Indians and school colors are white and red.
There are a wide variety of clubs and organizations that offer membership to FOSH pupils. Some of these include Family Career and Community Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Art Club. For those who qualify competitive scholastic teams include Debate Team and the Scholar Bowl. Co-curricular activities are open pupils who are eligible and include Fort Osage Marching Band, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Assemble, and Choir.
There is no mandatory uniform at FOSH. But, pupils are expected to come to school in appropriate attire. Revealing and provocative clothing or clothing bearing the Confederate flag, KKK, or Nazi symbolism are forbidden. Headgear, sagging pants, exposed undergarments, strapless tops, halters, and muscle tops are all banned at FOSH. The dress code is enforced, and Infractions are punished with growing severity from being sent home to change up to out of school
