First, the theory deals with cognitive, emotional aspects and aspects of behavior for understanding behavioral change" (University of Twente, 2016, Para. 3). Behavioral and Social Cognitive awareness can affect habits while in a social setting or environment. An example of Social Cognitive behavior can happen when peer pressure forces someone to do something that they normally would not do. For instance, if a social group consists of a majority of smokers and drinkers, a person who does not smoke or drink may start smoking or drinking. This theory also holds true that society and environment can play a role in someone beginning to smoke or drink. Another example could be while living with one 's parent a person may have to abide by the parent 's rules, but when they start living on their own, the model that they had to live with can be broken because new environments and social makeups can change the …show more content…
Since the age of twelve Clayton has been working and doing odd jobs, washing cars or picking mangoes from a local tree to sell to friends and neighbors. This habit developed because of the vacancy of his parents. Growing up and not being able to afford the basic needs, such as proper clothing, shirts, pants, and shoes can make a person value life 's basic needs and learn sincerely to appreciate what he has earned. The role models for this habit is contributed to Clayton 's grandparents. Living in a home with little or no income, Clayton watched his grandparents support their children and himself with little revenue. Today Clayton has two daughters who are influenced by his hard work and his need to be a provider.
