Goal: Summary Response
Length: 1000 words (2-3 pages, excluding the Works Cited page)
Task: Summarize and respond to an expository and/or argumentative prose essay. Use only one text.
Special Requirements: Appropriate handling of at least one direct quotation (with an in-text citation)
Directions: Read the essay “Is Google Making Us Stupid” by Nicholas Carr on pages 735-749 in the Norton textbook.
Provide a summary of Carr’s writing. Once a summary has been provided, respond to the essay. Use the questions in the engaging with the text section to aid in your writing. Consider if you agree with Carr’s thoughts and opinions. Explain your reactions. You must use at least one quote directly from the text.
