On the other hand formal sources of support offer systems that promote your learning and enable you to reflect on your practice. This is an important process for professional development as it allows you to receive feedback from others in regards to your practice. For example a staff member may feel they have no flaws in their practice, but after having a supervision could be made aware of areas that they need to improve on.
Personally I feel that both the above support systems are as effective as each other because together they cover such a wide aspect of a job role.
