Forgiveness Paper

In current society, every problem is in need of a solution and thanks to our humanity advancing in every aspect, we are lucky to have many of these solutions. Living a hectic life can lead to anxiety, anger, resentment, but living a life where a person holds a grudge towards someone can also cause such negativity. Thankfully this research will study the healing impact forgiveness may have on a person who has not granted forgiveness to themselves or an oppressor. This research will study the possibility that medicine is not needed to relieve these negative emotions, simply a proper granting of forgiveness will bring about those one-eighty elements of well-being. Two measures were used in this study, the Heartland Forgiveness Scale and the Transgression Related Interpersonal Motivations Inventory along with 72 psychotherapy outpatients from the suburban Philadelphia area (Friedman & Toussaint 2009). It is important to be able to study the history of people whose anxiety and anger are being observed based on the change that would happen if a person granted forgiveness. The independent variable in this study is the action of forgiveness by the person suffering from a non-well-being life, whether it is forgiveness to an offender or self-forgiveness; the dependent variable will be a person’s well-being, the release of the negativity that has been consuming a person’s life and has overtaken the possibility of a person to enjoy well-being at its fullest.
