Forgiveness In The Ultimate Gift And The River

In life, people struggle with forgiveness and grief. Society mostly hangs on to grief than forgiving their problems. In The Ultimate Gift and the River, they both have analogous literary themes throughout the story lines. The literary theme us the universal truth the story teaches, it is what the main character learns. Throughout these stories, both of the main characters are struggling with the conjoint theme of forgiveness breaks the bondage of grief. Occasionally the main character in The River struggled with forgiving people and The River. Such as having clemency on the person who endangered Gabriel’s dad’s life. Since his father died when he was a kid, he isolated himself from people because of that grief. As a result of his father’s death the main character, Gabriel, had a grim interval of forgiving the cause of Gabriel’s dad’s death. Comparatively, both The River and The Ultimate Gift struggle with forgiveness through grief. Recently, during Jason’s life, his grandfather perished. Although Jason never liked his grandfather, he still tries to overcome resentment. His grandfather had not been pleasant to Jason during his life. His grandfather still tries to apologies through video after his passing. As Jason was completing his grandfather wishes, he met people who were genuine friends to him. Jason began to continue to connect with these people and grew fond of them both. He also deals with great grief when his friend Emily dies of cancer. At first, he does not accept the fact she is dead, and she will not be there anymore. He soon realizes that forgiveness is what gives you the strength to move on from grief and anger. Despite the anger and heartache in the beginning of both stories, they enhance their discovery through life and through
