Conflict In Forgiveness In Family

Improved Essays
The major number of families live happily together and have no conflicts. At least no major conflicts. They get along with each other just fine. On the other hand, there are also many families that are dysfunctional. All of the different families are dysfunctional in their own different ways and get into conflicts pretty much on a daily basis; in other words, they are not able to function as a family. One example of this sort of break down in families can be seen in the story “Forgiveness In Families.” The main dysfunction in this story is more complex than usual in some way, as it’s more a self-conflict. Val is trying to take all the attention away from Cameron and that is causing her to become in opposition to him and even in some way with her mother.
Val does not really spend much time describing herself however it is quite easy to evaluate the fact that she is uptight based on the fact that a lot of her brother’s life events seemed to annoy her greatly. After the event with her mother in the hospital, she realizes that she really is not much

Cameron is seen as a liar, “…he spent the whole day sitting in the movie houses…because Mother and all of us believed that he was working…,” thief, “…a letter came. A request of funds. …but he didn’t send back the money.” In addition, he also was inconsiderate and irresponsible “He got on the phone and phoned me.” So far we can tell why Val has such opposition towards her brother although that he has never done anything to her in specific. Furthermore, we can see a dysfunction at the end of the story. Val has an epiphany moment at the end of the story, in which she realizes the fact that it was in her interest that something very bad happened to their mother just so that she can finally blame something on

What are some of the main causes of tension between family members? Are the causes related to societal expectations, cultural expectations, or personal pride? Or maybe it is a combination of all of these causes? How these external and internal conflicts can affect the relationship among family members is noticeable in the short stories, “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut and “The Rules of the Game” by Amy Tan. In both, “Harrison Bergeron,” and “The Rules of the Game,” the impact of these struggles can be seen between the relationships of the parents and their children; Harrison’s parents, in “Harrison Bergeron,” show indifference towards how societal beliefs affect their son while Mrs. Jong, in “Rules of the Game,” favors cultural expectations…

Accidents occur everyday while we are walking, or simply when we're sitting down. When little things like this happen, the person usually tends to say sorry ,but sometimes we just turn away from the the man or look at the adult with hate. The consequences things might bring are very dangerous due to the fact that if a fight starts to commence, the one who wanted revenge might lose if the one caused the accident is stronger and bigger in shape.…
