Judy Blume is well known for her novels intended for adolescents in middle school. When I picked up Blume’s novel, Forever, in the sixth grade, I assumed it was going to be another one of her middle school novels. However, I was greeted with a story about two teenagers, and their sexual adventures. After this, I have not failed to read the descriptions given on the back of books. Even though this novel might have been uncomfortable to read, it is important for adolescents to read due to the sex education that can be taken away.
When I discovered this novel was going to be on our syllabus, I thought I was not going to be able to read it with an open mind.
