Chapter 8 of the textbook discusses strongly about the variety of firearms, tool marks, and other impressions found and studied throughout the Criminal Justice System today. In Forensics, experts distinguish the similarities and differences between firearms and bullets by using a form of science known as “Firearms Identification”. As stated in the text Firearms Identification is “A discipline mainly concerned with determining whether a bullet or cartridge was fired by a particular weapon (Saferstein 168).” In Forensics, experts essentially look at different factors when examining a bullet at a crime scene.
