Forensic Science Personal Statement

I have always been intrigued and fascinated by television shows where forensic and genetic analysis is used to help solve crimes and aid in other legal situations. After receiving my biology degree, I decided I wanted to seriously consider a career in the forensic science field. I have reviewed forensic scientist positions at various job sites and realize that I must continue my education to pursue the types of jobs that appeal to me. I am interested in helping local law enforcement solve crimes. Having a role in solving crimes will give me a great deal of satisfaction. This field of work is extremely interesting to me and is the type of work I will enjoy as a career. In order to obtain the necessary knowledge needed for these types of positions, I wish to pursue a Master of Science in Forensic Science. …show more content…
Going into college, I knew I must focus on my studies if I wanted to graduate in four years and receive grades that were of a high standard. My study habits are something that I am proud of and greatly helped me during my undergraduate studies. Having developed good study habits will continue to aid me in graduate school. On occasion, I also utilized tutors and professors for assistance to ensure that my grades were up to the high standards I had set for myself. The point I am trying to make is, I do not have a problem asking for assistance if I feel it is necessary. Furthermore, I strongly believe I am ready for graduate level work, as I am self-motivated, have incredible study habits and enjoy being challenged.
