Forensic Science was never something I saw myself loving, let alone wanting to do as a career. It wasn’t even a thing to me until my senior year of high school. I’ve always wanted to be a music teacher because I love music and the ways it can change people, but that all changed in the middle of my senior year when I fell in love with Forensics. I want to be a Forensic Scientist because I want to change people’s lives and the way the world looks at science when it comes to investigating and analyzing things. I was introduced to the world of Forensics by Wisper Babineau during my third marking period of my senior year of high school. At first I was skeptical because I had her when I was in eighth grade for Algebra one and it seemed odd that she was teaching a science class. However, the way she taught the class made me want to make it a career. She made Forensics seem so much easier than it is and I wanted nothing more than to jump right into every activity and project. All of my dreams of taking over the music department were wiped clean from my brain. I wanted to investigate cases, solve murders with science and be someone completely different from high school me. In the back of my mind, I thought to myself, this is going to be the best career choice for me. I began researching careers in Forensics and I fell in love with the idea of becoming a Forensic Scientist. Just knowing I was going to be able to do what I love was absolutely refreshing.
