Forensic Psychology is the application of Psychology in a law setting, such as court, or even in a private practice away from government facilities. I want to join this career path because I love psychology and want to make a difference. While a Bachalor’s Degree is acceptable for most professions in the Psychology category, a Ph.D. or Psy.D. is required for Forensic psychology. This is at least 8 years of study, as well as an internship to qualify for the degrees. Even after college, a Forensic Psychologist must attend education workshops to keep up with current changes in law and psychology. Quite a bit of the duties involve assessing and working with defendants in a court case. They must speak in court and provide professional opinion on the accused.
