A coroner is someone who examines dead bodies and sees what caused that person to die. Some interesting things about the Grundy County Coroner, (John W. Callahan) is that he examines the fingerprints and x-rays of the dead body and he looks at the DNA records with the fingerprints and he takes all of this to the law agencies to see what they can do with it to see how they actually died. The Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Report, reported an estimate of 1,165,383 violent crimes that was committed in the year of 2014. Also, there was an estimate of 8,277,829 property crimes committed that same year. Floyd Lawton a 47 year old man who was born in Chicago Illinois, but now resides in New York City tells me about his life of crime. V. Summary of the article. In this article it showed relationships between economic standings and family homicides. It described the different types of homicides within a family and the specific motives/reasoning for them. Math is important in law enforcement especially when it comes to car crash reconstruction. Policing agencies use math to determine how fast a vehicle was going before the collision occurred, at times this can be used to determine who was at fault for insurance purpose or for taking criminal action against. A professor named Caples wrote an article that talks about the formulas police officers use to determine the speed of vehicles. The formula is S=√30FD where S is the speed of the vehicle, F is the drag factor and d is the distance of the skid mark. In the article "Examination and Documentation of the Crime Scene" written by George Schiro, he discusses the examination of a crime scene using photography. He states how photography can be used to compare different situations. One example he gives is how actual size photos can be used to compare shoeprints and fingerprints found at the crime scene to possible suspects. INVESTIGATION: On 03-11-2017- at approximately 0015 hours, I was notified by Det. Carter #181968, of a traffic crash with serious injuries that occurred on Fletcher Avenue, east of the intersection of19th Street. I responded to the crash scene and upon arrival at approximately 0117 hours, I was assigned to forensically map the scene and I also took digital photographs of the scene.
