Evidence is collected at a crime scene to be used in a court trial. Investigators collect all kinds of evidence. The four major kinds of evidence used in a trial are testimony, direct evidence, circumstantial evidence, and real, or physical evidence. As explained in “Forensic Science: Evidence, Clues, and Investigation” by Andrea Campbell, forensic evidence is the best evidence to use at a trial. Forensic evidence is the evidence that you can see and feel. It falls into the fourth category of evidence. For example, hair and fingerprints are forensic evidence. Forensic evidence is collected by Investigators and sent away to Forensic Scientist to be studied for trial.
