Foreign Policy Vs Cold War

Our foreign policy strategy came to be know as containment, which was designed to contain the spread of communism. This foreign policy strategy would soon bring about the Truman Doctrine, and the Marshall Plan. The Cold War affected our foreign policy because it caused us to help countries that we thought were anti-communist. It also made the United States more aggressive interventionist in Central America, in trying to keep leaders that they seen as non-communist leaders in power, even if they were brutal dictators, this had a great effect on immigration especially were Cuba was concerned. I believe that to a certain extend the Cold War policies still affect us today in our behavior of Central America. In conclusion, The cold war ended
