Foreign Country Term Paper: China As of September 2016, the country of China is the largest holder of U.S. Debt. The United States is approximately $19.5 trillion dollars in debt. China holds $1.157 trillion of that debt, that is 30 percent of the $3.901 trillion in Treasury bills, notes, and bonds owed to foreign countries. The amount of debt that the United States owed to China was the reason that I decided to write this paper. I wanted to know about the country that holds the majority of the United States foreign debt. ( China is located in East Asia. The country of China is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on its east and by 14 countries including Russia, Mongolia and India on its West. China is located at 18.160 Minimum Latitude, 53.560 Maximum Latitude. The population of China is, 1,343,239,932, with an unemployment rate of 4.05%. ( country of China covers approximately 9,569,901 square kilometers. China has a list of natural resources, coal, iron ore, petroleum, natural gas, mercury, tin, tungsten, antimony, manganese, molybdenum, vanadium, aluminum, lead, zinc, uranium and the world’s largest hydropower potential. The capital of China is Beijing. It doesn’t surprise most of us that China’s number one export is computers, followed by, broadcasting equipment, telephones, office machine parts and integrated circuits.
