Statement of Intent
Upon completing an Economics major as an undergraduate student at Fordham, I aspire to take my knowledge, skills, and dedication to the next level by applying for the Accelerated Master’s program in Economics at Fordham. I believe that graduate work in Economics would not only expand on my existing knowledge, but also equip me with extensive analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills for a successful and challenging career in the financial industry.
In the summer of 2014, when I just graduated from high school, I was hired at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a Global Transaction Services Analyst intern through PENCIL, a nonprofit which partners with NYC leading businesses in developing a rigorous workforce development

This post-high school summer experience at Bank of America influenced my academic pursuit significantly: it intrigued my interest in pursuing a finance-related career, which later led me to declare a major in Economics.
I am particularly interested in Fordham’s graduate program in Financial and Monetary Economics. I have truly enjoyed my undergraduate courses in Economics, especially Corporate Finance and Financial Markets, from which I learned the basics of firms’ investment and financing decisions, risk and sensitivity analysis, debt, equity, and derivative securities valuation, as well as computational skills in financial modeling. Now I am looking forward to an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and skills in financial and monetary economics, and apply them in my future career.
During my sophomore year in college, I worked at Ralph Lauren as a Customer Service Associate, from which I developed strong interpersonal skills and time management skills. As a Customer Service Associate, I delivered outstanding customer services to clients from around the world, and managed the problems and concerns of each client in a professional manner.
