Forbidden Marriage In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

I think Romeo and Juliet should have gotten secretly married because it would cause chaos if their families found out. Romeo's and Juliet's families hate each other, so it would make Tybalt want to kill Romeo even more if he were to find out that a Montague married a Capulet. On the first prologue, lines 5-8, it states that " From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life, Whose misadventured piteous overthrows doth with their death bury their parents' strife." Romeo's and Juliet's families hate each other for no reason, Just because of their last names. If Romeo and Juliet were not to marry secretly, the rage between the families would grow. Tybalt could be described the tough, cocky, aggressive,

There was a big feud between the two families that started a long time ago but after that they never liked each other again. The Capulet’s and Montague’s are both unable to keep clam about the situation; instead they bring it out onto the city. If there wasn’t a issue between the capulets and Montague’s, Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have had to hide how much they care about each other and love each other and Friar Laurence wouldn’t have had to start up a whole other situation with Juliet. Both Capulet and Montague families had many differences but didn’t realize just how much it affected Romeo and Juliet until after their death. This is highly significant, because if they had waited a little bit longer they could have realized that they come from rival families, and possibly try to figure out this whole situation in a better, smarter manner. Instead, they met again at Juliet’s balcony, and once again--rather than try to get to know each other and seeing if they really are right for each other--they came to a conclusion, get married the next day by Friar Lawrence, “Come, come with me, and we will make short work. And I will admit, he had his hesitation due to him feeling Romeo was far too young to truly know what love is, yet he still married them. He should have trusted his gut, and done the righteous thing, considering the two had only known each other for a measly 24 hours. Aside…

Furthermore, the play signifies the idea of searching for a genuine identity; as often, society’s constructions oppose one’s true self. Through the voice of Juliet within the play, the audience captures her change in character and beliefs as she confronts the implications of her society.…
