Football is very intriguing and draws attention from people all over the world. Though football interests many of us it is more dangerous than it is interesting. Players put themselves at risk of sprains, fractures, dislocations, and even concussions. These concussions increase the risks of mental disease, like dementia. Should our love of a sport be the reason someone suffers from brain damage? The movie Concussion, Directed by Peter Landesman, is about a doctor, Omalu, who does an autopsy on a man who used to play football. He finds that the man had a lifetime of repeated head injuries. After his findings, he fought to share his research but the NFL fought back. Despite the NFL’s efforts to hide it, Omalu published an article to let the world know the real dangers of football. This movie is based off a true story, and it gives a visual of what football can not only do physically but mentally as well. Changing the rules of football can become a very controversial topic. Mainly because people love it just the way it is. But the regulations of football should be altered for the safety of everyone. We should do whatever it takes to get this to happen, whether it is signing a petition or even boycotting the games. Something has to be
