Parents know that before signing their kids up at a young age, players know that before agreeing to put on the equipment and play for a team, and even coaches know that before lettting their players run out on the field. Also, if an athlete gets concussed, it does not automatically mean they will develop depression. In addition to that, if an athlete plays football especially at the professional level, they will be or have been concussed at least once in their life or in their pro career. Also, CTE can only be detected once an athlete has passed away and has his brain tissue examined under a microscope, claims Drysdale (427). Therefore, whether or not an athlete has a history of concussions does not necessarily mean they will develop this disease. Furthermore, concussions do not give the NFL Competition Commitee the right to implement certain rules that are changing the tradition of the game. This sport was not meant for everyone, so it takes a certain amount of toughness and resilance to play the game of football. additionally, football is not the only sport associated with concussions and head traumas.
