The first concept we tied into it is segregation in sports by social class. There are some tendencies concerning sports participation by the children in low-income households. First one is they are more likely to engage in physical contact sports like boxing and wrestling, and second one is they engage in sports that require little equipment and financial demand. Given that Manny grew up in poverty that caused his father to eat his dog, those two tendencies make it clear that Manny couldn’t do nothing but choosing boxing rather than playing golf or tennis that he was not able to financially afford. This experiment is a correlational study because it is used to see if there is a correlation between concussion knowledge and socioeconomic class. This study was used to see if the coaches that lived in a lower socioeconomic class had less concussion education through than coaches who lived in a higher socioeconomic class, and how effective the Heads Up Football (HUF) program is. Racism in sport in Australia has a long history as stated by the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC)[1]. Race Relationships within the Australian Football community have proven the significance of acceptance and equality over recent times. The AFL have proven that the indigenous race within the Australian football community suffer from a disadvantage as they present absent from management roles within the sport and often are the victim of racism and stereotypical facts. The fourth cause is physical contact, and when playing a sport that involves physical contact there is a chance that there is going to be some injuries. The term for sports that involve physical contact are called contact sports. One example of a contact sport is American football, and the goal of this sport is one team has to try to get the ball to the other side of the field so it can be counted as a touchdown. Sometimes this involves a player to tackle another opponent player in order to protect their fellow teammate which has the ball, so they can get to the other side of the field to make the touchdown. The social awareness aspect of this project is one that I didn’t get to cover as much as I would’ve liked, because it’s not the primary focus of my question. My question specifically asks about the effect of the concussion crisis on the sport of football. I did mention that the majority (two-thirds) of NFL players are African-American, and I was able to show an image in my presentation to try and illustrate that racial disparity. But it wasn’t enough, mostly because I was strapped for time, and had to pick what I could focus on. I agree with Mr. Francis’ statement in saying that it was not appropriate for Trump to refer to the NFL football players who are protesting with derogatory terms. Despite the fact that he does not feel it is appropriate for them to protest, he still must refer to them with respect because he is the President of the United States.
