There was 45 seconds to play, the 11th play of the dive. Shot gun snap, I drop back to pass float it up into the end zone for Terrell. Back pedaling, he made the catch, and we won the game. Five games into the season I was on a record setting pace, 14 touchdowns and 1250 yards through the air. “He was having such a great start to the season”, my coach said, “what we had hoped for is he would be a player of the year candidate not only for FCS but all of football.” My success did not go unnoticed. An ESPN insider said, “I love the way he moves around, at 6’5 230 pounds, with a NFL arm and great mobility I think Tyrone Jamal is a quarterback out of BYU that will go high in the draft.” BYU had every NFL team at their practices in August …show more content…
I thought I could try to make some money with it. Terrell and I went riding around the country roads on some bikes we found. After miles of pedaling, we arrived to a grove that always had some raccoons. We started walking through and saw something up in a tree. It was a raccoon. I took a shot at it and blew half its face off. He tumbled to the ground. Terrell spotted something in another nearby tree. He took a shot and nailed it, just like the last one. It fell to the ground. Terrell and I began to get tired riding around so we headed back to my house to skin them. We got back to my house and skinned the raccoons we shot. We had to get to bed to prepare for the upcoming week. It was third and thirteen. The call was ‘Twins Right 521 Deep Cross”. I rolled out left threw deep across my body to Terrell and right as I threw, I felt like I had been hit by a truck. That was it; I was done for what I thought was going to be the rest of the year. I went in the next day and the doctor said I had torn my MCL and could be out anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. I told the doctor I could not let my team down. I had to get back to …show more content…

I had just gotten back from Junior Olympics (for track and field) in Houston Texas, in which I competed in Javelin, and The 100m Dash, where I strained my hamstring after finishing the biggest race of my life. As summer came to an end, football was right around the corner. Being the stubborn teenager, I refused to sit out and heal; Football was the biggest thing I looked forward to all year. The first week of practice went by painfully; I remember finding myself with an ice bag around my strained hamstring every night. By the end of the week I couldn’t endure the pain, but I made the team, there was no going back. I couldn’t sit out now; I had already dug myself in too deep. The next day I was barely getting by, but practice wasn’t over just yet, it was my turn to go out for a pass, I ran with all my strength, and opened up my stride to the fullest potential, as soon as I took…

My first year playing real contact football, I’ve waited for ever to actually play and when I got the chance I wanted to show all my skills that I've acquired over the years that I’ve been waiting . My first team name was the Hurricanes, we shaped out to be a really good team we. We had a line that could withstand an earthquake, we also had running backs that could sprint faster than light can reflect off a mirror. Our team went three and three then the playoffs came around and we were knocked out first game by Brandon Valley. After we lost that game I dropped my head in disbelief wondering how this could’ve happened, we worked so hard only to amount to that…

Now to the real story. I was playing middle linebacker and my coach told me to blitz, but I had this weird feeling it was going to be a pass or the running back was going to break free, so I stayed back. The running back broke free on the right side of the field. He passed everyone, except for me. Soon I was like a dog chasing a cat. Finally at the 7 yard line I jumped and the ball fell on the 5 yard line. My friends and the coaches…

The turning point of my college football career came early in my third year. At the end of the second practice of the season, in ninety-five-degree heat, our head coach decided to condition the entire team. Sharp, excruciating pain shot down my legs as he summoned us repeatedly to the line to run wind sprints. I collapsed as I turned the corner on the final sprint. Muscle spasms spread throughout my body, and I briefly passed out. Severely dehydrated, I was rushed to the hospital and quickly given more than three liters of fluids intravenously. As I rested in a hospital recovery room, I realized my collapse on the field symbolized broader frustrations I felt playing college football.…
