I suggested that we could built a replica of our opponent’s mascot and destroy it. They loved it. The woodwork teacher liked the idea and got the class to work on it. After numerous announcements and handing our countless flyers, I could hope that the message was clear to all the students. I even got the art class to create signs to post all over school. I posted even more flyers and with permission, wrote messages for the homecoming game on the white boards in many classrooms. I bothered the hell out of my teammates to help me promote the homecoming game. No one wanted to help but then Doug, a receiver and the team goofball, came out and helped with the pep rallies. Doug was always causing trouble even back in middle school. I remember the many times I had to take him down to the principal’s office. But this time he didn’t mess around and got the pep rallies so loud that neighbor complained about the noise. Then Malik, our quarterback, helped me with posting signs. It was a domino effect. Once one person started to help, everyone else followed. Soon the entire team was helping out. Everyone was convincing their friends to come and leading the way for our daily
