There was a study conducted to show that it is impossible for helmets to be concussion proof. This article compared the damages of car crashes to football. According to Mark Wilson, car crashes stop in yards where as players stop in inches. Football players have just a small layer of foam protecting the brain. It has been discussed that a helmet being created to prevent concussions will never be possible. The test was not possible to determine concussions, so they determined the durability of the helmet. If the helmet cracked it was thrown away, and a new one was created until it passed the five-star crash rating.
