The fewest an NFL player can get paid is 300,000 dollars while the highest payed player in 2015 makes 19 million dollars a year. That is a lot of money to pay someone just to play a sport. There are injuries in all sports so the players get paid well to compensate for their work. On top of a high salary football player have many other opportunities to further expand their brand. Commercials are always looking for the current athlete to use as their poster boy. State farm for example is currently in a contract with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Almost 90 percent of all college football scholarship recipients are either middle or lower class. With no other way to afford college and better their self and family many young boys in poverty turn to playing football at the high school level to get recognition from colleges. With the scholarship college football offers to the talented few, they are able to get a full ride which includes dorms and food that their families wouldn’t be able to afford. Also with college football gaining more and more support from Americans annually these 19 and 20 year old players are becoming instant celebrities. Although the NCAA forbids universities from bribing talented high school football players to commit and play for their school, many of the highly rated college football programs are constantly being caught doing it anyways.
