Every day people are throwing up or experiencing some type of illness due to the food they have eater earlier in the day. Think of a time you or someone you know that has experienced some sickness after eating and wondered what caused this or what in the food exactly made you get sick. Many people get food poisoning, diarrhea, or breakouts from certain foods they have been eating for years, knowing they aren’t allergic to them. Rarely may it be due to something else going on in their life at the moment, but majority of the time it is from the food they previously have eaten. In the article, “Foodborne Germs and Illnesses”, it states that, “Each year, 1 in 6 Americans gets sick by consuming contaminated foods or beverages. Many different disease-causing microbes, or pathogens, can contaminate foods, so there are many different food borne infections.” This ratio is high in showing how the foods we eat are not all safe and clearly inspected thoroughly. Many people are not aware of the food origins they are eating. Or the fact that there is a system of steps to create the food that is causing problems towards our life stock and environment. This problem can be solved through ethical eating and even vegetarianism.
