Food Waste Food is key to survival and that’s a fact. According to Charles W. Bryant “medically speaking, most doctors agree that healthy humans can go up to eight weeks without food as long as they have water.” Logically speaking that sounds like a pretty decent amount of time but in the grand scheme of things it’s pretty short. There’s only 52 weeks in a year and eight is not even half of it. Not to mention eight weeks is only the length a healthy person in all senses of the word would last. Knowing this it still confuses me on how restaurants and supermarkets can waste food without worry. Of course some food can’t be used due to multiple reasons one being health. Taking that into consideration I suggest that restaurants donate food to homeless shelters or companies dedicated to feeding homeless individuals, and supermarkets could host canned food drives.

Strangely I can’t seem to wrap my head around that idea and then I thought about how spoiled people tend to be inconsiderate. Especially since inconsiderate people are only concerned with their wants. Now you’re wondering how the two correlate, but in the world of today people tend to want more for less and it is understandable considering the world’s economy. From what I have read I figured that food service tend to appeal to our since of glutton which leads to more waste. After restaurants deliver food we consumers take one look and know what we will eat and what we will save or throw away a terrible truth. I thought that the remains of a meal could be given to the needy, but due to health regulations restaurants can’t do
