3.3 Huge economic loss On the other hand, food wastage also leads to a huge economic loss, not only reduce the farmer earnings; it also increases the burden on consumers. The more the food has been wasted or lost, the more the loss that farmer obtained. For the consumer, the food price will increase due to the large food waste, so that the farmer can earn more to encounter what they have loss in the production stage. Therefore, it may create a vicious cycle between the producer and the consumer.
4.0 Initiative on food waste reduction To minimize the food waste, government can organise awareness campaigns; for the consumer, they can plan out before food shopping and reuse the leftover.

This happened because the host will prepare too much food for the guest as welcoming them. Moreover, if during open house, some of the host will invite relatives, friends, colleague or neighbors on the same day to their house. In this case, they will prepare buffet for their guest, in case leak of food and more convenience. Yet, not all of them will finish their plate, at the end of the day, the food might left a lot, this will cause food waste. Furthermore, the latest critical event about food waste in Kuching was a mall tossed the large bowl which equal to 1,500 bowls of Sarawak Laksa, after they achieved a new record in the Malaysia Book of Record.
