Food Stamp Letter

I recieved a letter recently about oweing 1700 dollars in food stamps. This is absurd because I didn't even receive that total the whole time I was on Food Stamps. I resigned from My job in April 2013, and I stop receiving food stamps in November 2014. I think I was receiving 186 a month in Food Stamps benefits. During the time I was receiving Food Stamps beneifts I was searching for a job. I have a son I share joint custody of and I the Food Stamps Benefits helped me tremendously to keep us fed. I’m very gracious from the helped because I did’nt know what to do. That year I was battling a lot, I was fighting for custody of my son. Plus i had a car note to pay. I stopped working there in April of 2014 and moved back home to Memphis. I applied for unemployment becasue I needed the money with no job or other income coming in. I applied for jobs everywhere, went to over 20 interviews. I stop receiving food stamps benefits around the end of October or early November 2014. I had to borrow money from friends and family which was embarrassing. Found myself breaking down and crying becasue I didnt know what was next. I found a job and started working December 2014 and im still with the company now. I appreciate the help becasue me and my son needed the help. I have a great job now and I’m back in College. Please, please you can see that I was employed 90% of the time i Received food stamps benefits. That temporary job was for a few months and I was done with that job. I was back unemployed and struggling. If i’m guilty of anything becasue I worked those few months I understand but even that dont come out to 1700. But i’m hoping everything will go in my favor, thank you for the time and giving me this chance to clear everyhting up. Becasue of your help, I was able to keep me and my son afloat until better days
