For many years, food shortages have become one of the leading problems in many countries. According to the “State of Food Security in the World,” the country with the least amount of nourished people is India. 190.7 million people in India have not been fed, making 10.6% of its population undernourished. Food Organizations that have been helping every country around the world should focus on the countries that have the most amount of food shortages. By helping out India rather than the low populated areas, more people will be able to survive, and become less hungry. Hunger in almost all nations, including the Unites States of America, is caused by poverty or a host of things that interact with poverty. These causes can be, but are not limited to discrimination, lack of power, corruption of government officials, war, environmental overload, and scarcity of resources. Unfortunately for most of the world, discrimination still exists and can cause biases when handing out food aid. In America’s case, lack of power and corruption of government officials are not a problem anymore, but environmental overload and scarce resources are still problems today (Hauptmann, Cole). As Americans, building houses on farmland for our expanding population and using more water than necessary.…

In this essay, I would like to discuss Article 25 of the Declaration of Human rights and the Millennium development goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger. The declaration of Human Rights was issued on 10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France. “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care,” says Article 25 of the Declaration of Human rights. However, since the Declaration of Human Rights was issued a long time ago, the UN thought they would revisit this in the form of ‘The 8 Millennium Goals,’ one of which is the goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger. I personally think that the UN has…
