Food security is having the availability to sufficient quality, safe, nutritious and affordable food, consistently. Food security is divided up into four elements, these are availability, access, utilisation and stability. In Australia we have availability to food security however say for example around Africa the population is undernourished and have minimal access to food security. Australia is one of the most food secure in the world, the amount of food we produce could feed the nation 3 times over. Australia currently is producing too much food that is getting thrown out, yet one in 9 people across the world are hungry every day.
