The United State’s food industry only cares about making profits and keeping people addicted to their food. Everyone should know that sugar is an addictive substance and contributes to obesity, but the fact is the nation's food industry refuses to believe that their food contributes to obesity and continues to blame it on peoples genetics and lifestyle habits (Fed Up). When companies decided to make this “healthy” option for consumers they put in an alternative that was just as bad and then was signed off by the government knowing the negatives it would have.
