I am personally interested in this position for several reasons. First, I have noticed how this organization is making a difference in the everyday lives of people both locally and throughout the state of Tennessee. I have had the personal experience of growing up almost in the backyard of this organization with my family being a recipient of the food box program and for that reasons this program is dear to my heart. To see how this program has evolved over the years for a good cause, makes me want to be a part of this organization. As an adult, I am able to see and understand more than I did when I was a recipient and just to realize how it's changing lives makes me want to become a part of this great organization. I see firsthand the food boxes that are distributed to the people who are unable to provide themselves with an adequate, nutritious meal. Also, the backpack lunches that are provided to the kids to take home over the weekend to ensure they are able to eat on the days that school is not in session. This organization is not only concerned with the children but the senior citizens as well by providing them with nutritious senior citizen boxes to provide them with nutritious meals as well. I strive to make a difference in people lives everyday and I know this organization …show more content…

It isn’t necessarily why do I want to serve with FoodCorps but why wouldn’t I want to serve FoodCorps in my opinion. FoodCorps and myself share multiple similar values, some being the promotion of civilian equity regardless of culture or political differences, production of a better future through younger generations, and additionally the passion for healthy foods and spreading information about healthy foods.
