The Great Devourer of Dreams
They say that dreams are portals to another world, and that the imagination is a powerful thing especially those form from nightmares. The power of fear is what feeds Fonix, The Great Devourer of Dreams, and banished son of the goddess Nyx. Long before humans created light Nyx had two sons, Phobetor, and Fonix, but Fonix was not meant to be born. He was a mistake. Phobetor became the god of dreams, but dreams can turn into nightmares. From nightmares Fonix gained form. When the humans slept Fonix would consume the dreams of children, and adults. Thus the night became dreadful time. When the sun set, and darkness painted the land the two brothers would clash over the dreams of the humans while their mother watched. Fonix was not a god in his mother’s eyes. Good versus Evil, Day versus Night, the battle went on until Fonix was trapped, and placed a cruse mark. Phonix was stripped of his godly form and began to evolve. His eyes closed shut and were erased from his face, his mouth became that of a serpent, his hands became claws, his body grew spike and thorns, and his chest turned into a black hole with razor sharp teeth. This become the new true form of Fonix, Devourer of Dreams. To never hurt anyone again his brother sealed him in his mother pendent and sent it to be buried in the underworld. An era of happiness was born, but all good things must come to an end. The seed of anger sprouted and bloomed into a tree of agony and despair. It broke the cursed mark put by his own brother and once again Fonix was released to reign terror on to the humans again. Stronger than ever, in his new monstrous form, Fonix can now shapeshift into whatever human’s feared most. He now roams the Earth unending his satisfying hunger, trapping the dreams of his victims in his pitch black hole stomach. Waiting for the next battle against his brother
