Follow The Water Terri Ellis Analysis

The topic of body paragraph #1 is that Terri Ellis’s best friend does not want to live in rock creek on the farm. “Rock creek will be a ghost town in five years” Based on this information we can tell that Terri’s best friend does not want to stay at rock creek and be stuck in the ghost town if it ever turns into one. He also doesn’t like it there because it is a farm instead of a neighborhood or a normal house. Terri’s best friend’s father said, all I wanted was this farm and a good family, I’m staying right where I want to be, and I’m not leaving. Similarity. “I hate it here”. This supports my claim because, we know that Georgie does not want to be at mars because her grandma is sick and she wants to see her before she passes. Also she doesn’t like it there because she has no one to hang out with …show more content…
The topic of Follow the Water is that Georgie does not want to stay on Mars. This supports my claim because it shows that Georgie does not want to stay there because she can’t even go outside without putting on her stupid survival suit. She said she cannot even make a dramatic exit. She hates the planetars and does not want to be there AT ALL. Plus she is worrying about her grandma because she is severely ill. In Contrast. Rock creek might not be a town anymore in five years. Terri’s best friend is kind of like Georgie. His best friend does not like Rock Creek and wants to move out because he knows that it might not be a town in five years. He thinks it will be pointless to stay if it’s going to go off the maps. Terri still thinks that it will be ok to live in Rock Creek because it is still going to be there for another five years, and if it does go off the maps he can just leave when it goes off the maps. Terri’s best friend is edging to move out of the town. He thinks that it will not be a town in five years. He will have to make a willing guess and stay or leave the

Abigail Adams and John Adams was the first presidential couple to move into the White house. Abigail was unsure of the change but knows it is very beautiful and is growing to enjoy it. Although she believes that it is nice, she also thinks that the White House is unfinished and the city of Washington D.C. is still in development. The reasons that I know she thinks that it is unfinished and that Washington D.C is still in development is because she is complaining about the way it is, she doesn't like the some of the inconveniences, and she talks about how it is annoying to not have anyone to do certain things.…

Our Town is clearly a representation - and largely a celebration - of small-town American life. Nearly every character in the play love’s Grover's Corners, even as many of them acknowledge its small-mindedness and dullness. Its sleepy simplicity, in fact, is its major point of attraction for many characters. Dr. Gibbs, for instance, who refuses to travel, thus cultivates his ignorance of life outside of Grover's Corners in order to remain content within it; his son, too, decides not to go away to college because everything he could want is available at home. Of course this staunchly conservative position creates some of the major problems in the play.…

What is the definition of family? Is family just the people descended from a common ancestor, or could it be more than that? The story Fever 1793 written by Laurie Halse Anderson suggests a different meaning of what family truly is. The story is about a 14 year old girl named Mattie Cook who lives in a house above their family's coffee shop in Philadelphia during the time of the Fever outbreak in 1793. Once the fever breaks and her mother becomes feverish, Mattie flees the city with her grandfather only to learn that the disease is everywhere.…

What I thought about the water portfolio that we did for our science unit was that it was a good way to teach us about this unit. Despite the fact that I would prefer to have tests, quizzes and more textbook work, I do find that this water portfolio assignment is still an effective way to teach students. It was enjoyable to work on the water portfolio and to experience a new way of learning rather than the common way of it being mainly textbook based and with more tests and quizzes. Additionally, creating a water portfolio was less work and more enjoyable than having to study each lesson for hours and to prepare for tests and quizzes. I find that the water portfolio was an easier and faster way to get through the unit and it may have conveyed…

A Rose for Emily: The Heart of Southern Gothic When Miss Emily Grierson died, so did the last generation of the antebellum South. She was Old Dixie’s last true daughter. Her family, once wealthy and proud, is now gone and all that remains is a house, a decaying monument to the former stature of the Griersons. The town of Jefferson treats her as a tradition, and while there may be rumors among the townspeople, there is a pervasive feeling of uneasiness in how they relate to Emily.…

My Observing Project is on the show “Water is Life” from the Samuel Oschin Planetarium at The Griffith Observatory. My expectations for this show are everywhere, I am not one hundred percent sure what to expect but just looking at the title and the illustration, I expect to be based under the sea. I am also guessing it is going to show us how life is composed by water just using some context clues. One thing I want to learn more about, and maybe a little confused about, how is water related to “Astronomy” since Astronomy is the study of the Universe. The show “Water is Life” was real interesting, and made me feel and change my perspective on Astronomy.…

In his short story “So Much Water So Close to Home,” Raymond Carver criticizes the lack of sensitivity society has in regards to the power imbalances between men and women by depicting domestic discord and a community’s response to violence that specifically targets women. The reader is introduced to gendered modes of experiencing the world since the story is told from the wife’s perspective instead of her husband’s. Carver’s narrative choice to frame the story from the perspective of Claire, places the reader into Claire’s shoes to piece together how small instances create her overall psychological turmoil. Claire’s relationship with Stuart perpetuates the demise of her psychological health since she feels uncomfortable to explicitly…
