Hello Mr. Robinson, Thank you so much again for your time, and all the wonderful insight you offered me about Columbia. Our conversation truly brought to light the wonderful culture that I would adore at Columbia, and the academics I can't wait to pursue. Additionally, I wanted to specifically thank you for sharing your knowledge on Columbia's extracurriculars and activities. It truly seems as if there are plenty of options for any interests a student might have.…
During my junior year in high school I didnt like the job I was working at. I knew that Tractor Supply was being built and I applied for a job. My family thought that there was no way that they would hire me. I really had no work experience because I was only working for family. A little while after that Alisha Jewell called me in for an interview.…
I shall always remember my first year working at Turkey Hill Ranch. I have always possessed an enduring fondness of the lovely church camp over all the years I’ve spent there as a camper, but I never imagined that its unique nature and pleasant atmosphere would impart such invaluable wisdom. This quiet and seemingly insignificant breadth of woods and field, tucked away amongst the encompassing depths of central Missouri, gave me an abundance of clarity on the exceeding importance of humility, service to others, and a bit of hard work in the composition of effective stewardship. Before becoming a part of the Summer staff at Turkey Hill, I was often impressed at the smooth and continuous operation of the camp week after week, being that it was…
Even when I’m wrong I’m usually right. At least that is how I like to think of it but the truth is I am headstrong. I don’t give up and I’ll keep persisting to get what I want. Though it hasn’t always been helpful, but, yet being so stubborn has lead me to work hard to to achieve my goals. To say I’m as stubborn as a mule would be an understatement.…
Naggine Bruno Mr. Morano Computing for College and Careers October. 14, 2015 I wanted to learn beyond about being a pharmacist, I wanted to learn about how it was life as pharmacist. I was working at on the Chicago Transit Authority, (CTA) train station in the customer assistant service department. My job responsibilities included assisting customers with directions and handling of emergency situations, monitoring and handling elevator entrapments, as well as viewing camera film. I assisted and helped people who have fallen on the tracks, dropped things on the tracks. Sometimes my job would just consist of helping people get to their destinations, but mainly the thing I mentioned as well and documenting and reporting incidents.…
You do your absolute best and nothing less for this program. Although at times it may seem like students do not value all your hardwork and dedication just know that it does not go unnoticed by me. I wish to thank you for the countless opportunities you blessed me with. From the sole fact of just accepting me to the program, allowing me to go on the Junior Trip, and sharing memories that I will value for the rest of my life. I am deeply appreciative for it all.…
I have always been interested in learning and using new ideas. Throughout my life, I have invariably drawn from my life experiences, newly learned ideas and my continuing education to help problem-solve sensibly and realistically allowing me to move forward or help others reach their goals. Although I have no formal teaching experience, in my past work and involvement in organized sports, I have repeatedly used the Progressive philosophy. When dealing with 13 & 14 year olds many situations arise such as bullying, personality clashes or simply not understanding a drill or play. I deal with these situations by asking questions to stimulate a discussion, allowing them to draw on past experiences; positive or negative, consequently allowing them to come up with a solution or grasp the knowledge they are seeking.…
An internship is normally a work task a student completes after a series of classes to gain a degree in a particular field they think they’ll love, whether they still love it after they’ve completed that journey is based upon a multitude of criteria. Luckily, I have found that I quite enjoy fashion and working in retail throughout this internship at Dress Barn. Occasionally students find that what they thought they were getting into, is actually completely different than what they expected. Especially when reading about a profession on paper versus seeing it up closer in real life. When I started college, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study or achieve with my life.…
The idea of being told that I had to work for the first time made me want to eat glass; but could it possibly have turned out for the better? In England, when you reach 10th grade you participate in a nationally accepted program called 'Work Experience'. ' Work Experience' is when you work just like you would if you were legally an adult except with this program it only lasts a week. After 2 weeks of tireless searching I landed a job at Ariya Capital; an experienced developer and investor in clean energy and infrastructure projects throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It was actually much more advanced than any job I ever thought of getting.…
I decided to visit with a local College and Career Readiness counselor. Mrs. Melissa Adkins is located at Uvalde High School. The truck was all set. The coolers were stuffed with cheesy sandwiches, soggy with their exposure to ice, and all the kids were seated and buckled with their faces engrossed to their oversized iPads. Money? Check. Strollers?…
Not everyone was born to with the proper skills to become a successful sales rep. It seems an easy job at first. A sales rep has the fine job of talking to customers all day; if someone loved talking to people, he or she might have thought that a sales rep would be an easy job to have. However, a successful sales rep needs to be able to do more than just talk to customers all day. They also have to successfully sell products to customers, and this is where most people fail at doing.…
