This is because I have established a sense of comfort with the members of my family and I’m not scared to act differently around them. Also, my family members are used to my strange actions so it doesn’t faze them who I do something out of the ordinary. Another factor as to why I was comfortable violating this norm was because I am not judged by the members of my family in my daily life. The dramaturgy theory compares an individual’s life to the theater, where we take on roles and act them out for an audience. These roles that we take on contains a front stage and a back stage. The front stage is when an individual puts on a façade of how he/she wants to be portrayed by society. The backstage is when an individual can step away from their façade and be their true self without fear of judgment.
