One criteria is folk songs are that their short, this is because of the forgetfulness of the song being passed down. The Dead South fails my first criteria for this song. If we look at another Folk sing Johnny Cash for instance, he nails it most of his songs are two to three minutes
The music videos in Folk have their own style as well when compared to other genres. When looking at Rock music videos you will see a lot of movement bouncing and pumping.
