The Importance Of Folk Healing Practices

Decent Essays
How have you and/or your family used folk healers or healing practices to recover from an illness or injury?
My family believes in “ojo” which is healed by running an egg up and down the affected persons body while reciting prayers. 17. What obstacles to working with family as client do you see based on you, your family, or a friend’s past experiences with health care services?

My friends mother is a nurse at methodist Mansfield and has encountered a number of obstacles when serving family. One incident was when her daughter (my best friend ) was taken to the ER after being severely beaten by her boyfriend. My friends mother was working that shift and as you can imagine she went ballistic and could not focus on her other patients. My friend had a broken nose, swollen purple eyes and a missing tooth. My friend was in a lot of pain and her mom was interrogating her and making matters worse for her instead of giving her space and letting her talk when she was ready. Working with family as clients is very difficult because the nurse can easily be distracted from other patients as she tries to focus on her relative and also thinks that all rules and policies are thrown out the door when dealing with
