Focus Point Two (Possibility of Aliens)
Throughout the years there has been much debate on whether or not aliens exist. One of the main things associated with aliens are flying saucers. Some depict the saucers as zooming around the sky at tremendous speeds and performing maneuvers that would be impossible for earthly craft (Nardo 10). “ Before long, citizens in Roswell spotted something in the skies that they could not explain.” (McCaffrey 7). Although people could not explain what they saw, they all agreed that it was something out of this world.
Many people were witness to the incident in Roswell. A team of researchers including Kevin Randall and Don Schmitt, concluded that alien remains had been found at the Roswell site (McCaffrey 7).

The Betty and Barney Hill Abduction case is more famous compared to other alien encounters because the other cases were mere followers. Because it is the first public account of alien abduction, there was controversy; the questionable evidence of when, where, and why it happened still intrigues today. First set evidence is looking at when it happened, we can tell it happened in the early 1960’s. It was September 19, 1961, night the Hills were on their way home to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, after a holiday in Montreal. “The story of the alleged UFO abduction of Betty and Barney Hill in New Hampshire in 1961 is well known to the public.”…

The belief that the Roswell Incident was a UFO is an interesting topic that can be supported by witness accounts, the government’s secrecy, and the debris; even the counter argument can be challenged. One reason why Roswell has a connection to a UFO is due to the detailed witness accounts. At the time, Glenn Dennis was a local mortician. He had received a call for any child-sized coffins from the Roswell Army Airfield.…

I had always been fascinated by modern mysteries and conspiracy theories, but before this class, I had no clue what to accept and how to analyze the information that I was presented to me. I chose the topic of the Moon Landing, because it enabled me to take a second look at the conspiracy theory through a new lens of experience. To understand where this idea of a hoax originates, we need to understand what was going on before the Apollo 11 moon landing. Starting in the 1950s, America was in a cold war with Soviet Russia, which was less of a physical battle and more of a challenge of who had a better structured government. It was a challenge of superiority that eventually led to the space race in 1955.…

It is hard not to notice how our unconscious can make us believe in something; when all we are looking for is evidence that can confirm what we want to know. I think that that was common theme in all of the different parts of the film. Some people really want to believe that extraterrestrial life exists, so when they get evidence that sort of seems to support this belief they refuse to see other evidence that contradicts it, they refuse to see that the materials that were found in the crash site, are earthly materials and that they probably would not have survived in space or crossing the atmosphere. It also shows how a person who doesn’t believe in palm reading can all of a sudden be a successful palm reader, because the woman’s unconscious basically tells the guy what she wants to…
