Below is my weekly update for this week from 5th Sept '16 to 7th Sept '16 .
1) FMR1 5-choice training:
- This week marks the beginning of the 11th week of the Fmr1 training, we have 1 wild type rat that was running on the Short ITI-2.5sec challenge trials. It performed with an accuracy rate of 92% and had less than 7% omission. It still has last challenge trial-Shorter ITI - 1.5sec in the upcoming week.
- We also have 2 rats running on the challenge trials this week. We ran these rats on Short Random ITI and found that both rat showed 50% omission rate with accuracy around 22%. Both rats are male Knockouts and we are expecting to see similar behavior in the upcoming challenge trials.
- 3 rats that were on the baseline …show more content…
- As per our discussion, it seemslike I've been following the gold standard in rodent MMN recording. I have also discussed about the expected recording peaks in rodent that may overlap with the human reading.
- Currently, I'm looking at the possible P3a component recording in rodents that are awake and behaving. The reference papers I have read so far suggests a possible P3 early component that can be observed in LFP recordings. I will further research on this to confirm the specifics of the experiment design while we wait for the Omnetics connectors.
- I have also requested Matt about using his neuralynx system to perform an EEG recording from a practice AEP rat. I'll meet with him again in the upcoming week to decide a concrete plan of action.
3) VEP recording Mice:
- As we are waiting for the new parts for our system, I'm planning to resume the VEP practice recording to optimize Hiro's system for Shank3 mice recordings.
- I will discuss the practice recording with Hiro, once I've optimized his system and I'm planning to do 3 consistent VEP recordings for 3
