There are many public health concerns, including but not limited to tuberculosis, heart disease, HIV, cancer, and diabetes. Perhaps some mental health disorders could be included, since they are a big problem in today’s society such as anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder.
Question 2. Can you think of some risk factors that are of public health importance?
Risk factors of public health importance are obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and diabetes during pregnancy, high blood pressure, and high level of cholesterol. Additional risk factors would also be practicing unsafe sex, hygiene, neglect, the use of alcohol, tobacco and substance abuse.

To know who is affected and understanding the relationship and risk factors that are associated with the problem; in addition to understanding the number of people being affected compare to the rest of the population (Friis, R. H. 2010).
Question 4. Another important step in setting public health priorities is to understand the impact of the problem. Can you think of some ways of quantifying the impact of a problem?
We can quantify the impact of the problem by understanding the rate of the disease, and the number of deaths among the population as well as the burden a certain disease can have on society. For example what is the cost of treating the disease? How much of the persons quality of life is going to be affected by any sort of limitation that impedes the person from a normal life. If such limitation exist then the next thing is to determine the economic impact that it has on everyone involved such as state and tax payers, due to disability and the use of local resources (Quantifying environmental,
