Flowers For Algernon Essay In the story a mouse named Algernon has the procedure before charlie, the reason they did this is because if something went wrong like if it killed algernon after the procedure they would know not to try it on charlie. this kind of testing is called animal testing, it is when scientist try an experiment on animals rather than humans, because if the experiment kills the animals instead of the human’s the scientist will have less legal stuff to deal, with then if a human died, if a human died then they could be charged with murder and that’s possible prison time for everyone involved with experiment, plus if the animal died it would be less of a loss than if a human died, plus humans matter more than animals, although…

The story Flowers for Algernon has both similarities and differences with the film version Charly, such as the setting, the scenes in the book and movie, and some of the characters. The settings caught my attention because when I read the book and watched the movie it was different. It was different because Charlie´s work in the book was a box company and in the movie it was a bread company, I noticed this right away when I had seen charly sweeping the floor and all the bread was behind him. Another one is Charlie´s apartment this is different because Charlie never had a neighbor in the book and in the movie he has a neighbor, I like when Charlie has a neighbor so he won't be alone by himself like in the book. The scenes caught my attention…

One of the most important, yet seemingly small differences, is the name given to the narrator in the movie, Charlotte. She never names herself throughout the written story. The choice not to name a main character of a story was very well thought out by Gilman. A no-named character gives the readers the ability to relate because they could just as easily be this person as to anyone else. The writers of the film not only chose to name the narrator, but they chose the name of the author of the original story.…
