Imagine yourself having a surgery to make a better person of yourself. Isn’t it worth a try? The main character of the story Flower Of Algernon is Charlie Gordon. He was not intelligent, he was trying his best to get smart but the school couldn’t help him much. So when he did the surgery he got smart, Charlie also helped the doctors who did this surgery and told them how to make it better. It made a better person of him. It was good for Charlie to have the surgery because he was so thankful for the little time he had to be smart, He was able to see the world around him, and he knew his friends better. He felt love, He loved Ms.kinnian. He saw the doctors better than how he used to. He had an Idea of what will happen. Every house will have a tv. Charlie said, “When I left after ward ,I found myself trembling. I don’t Know why for sure, but it was as if I’d seen both men {strauss and Nemur} clearly for the first time”(pg.317). Charlie is realizing what is happening around him he is starting to see think how they are. The surgery enabled Charlie to see the world around him. Finally it was necessary to get the surgery because he knew his friends better. He knew his true friends, He felt good because he will not get laughed at again. His old friends used to make fun of him. He wouldn’t get build. His co-Workers Used to bully him. Charlie mentions , “Now I know what it means to pull a charlie Gordon” (pg.323). Charlie now realizes what his friends used to make fun of him when they use this phrase. Charlie Understood what friends meant after the surgery. Charlie Gordon needed the surgery because he understands his friends better, he will be proud of himself, and he will look at the world in another way. Charlie’s friends would've still made fun of him. Also he should be proud of himself, he was the first person who took the surgery.
