I have realized the importance of having a positive impact on my community. I had a life changing experience that showed the impact that one person or a small group of people can have on their community. After college, I participated in AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps). This program is often referred to as the domestic Peace Corps. The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. I appreciate that the Florida State University degree is not specifically geared toward Librarianship as many others are. At this point I am not sure which specific path I will take after graduation. I may pursue a career as a librarian, in research, or possibly in data architecture or IT. I could work in a school, museum, with a non-governmental organization, or as an independent researcher. I could stay in Florida or travel the world. My future jobs could range from running a literacy program for at-risk youth to being a researcher. This range of options is why I have elected to pursue this degree specifically and I am excited about the limitless possibilities it
