Children will be left at home alone because when the child is off of school the the teacher will still have to work. It really is an all or nothing deal. Scholastic.com says, “If these teachers are in a different school than their kids, they are on vacation at different times they may be left at home alone because it is hard to find a babysitter for two weeks every six weeks”(1).The parents won’t be able to watch over their kids because they will be on different schedules. It will also be expensive. 20 dollars an hour is about what it is. 20 dollars times 8 hours is 160 dollars a day. That's for 14 days a break so it’s 2240 dollars a break. You have 4 breaks so that's 9960 dollars per year. That's almost about half of what teachers get paid per year!

Last but not least, year-round school does indeed reduce burnout in general. Scholastic.com states, “They didn’t have that bored, glazed over look of kids who have been in school for weeks on end with no breaks in sight” (1). The students and teachers weren’t bored in school because they had very frequent breaks and they always had something to look forward to. Just because students aren’t refreshed, that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve a parent at
