Battle of Olustee:
The battle of Olustee was the largest battle fought in the civil on Florida ground. The battle started in 1864. The union wanted to wins this battle for votes in the 1864 election. The battle was fought in Baker County Florida.
The South was under the command of General Joseph Finegan. The North was under the command of General Truman Seymour.
Seymour troops were heading towards lake city to destroy a railroad bridge which would secure them that part of Northern Florida.
On February 20th the battle of olustee had begun. They would meet at a railroad station in Olustee, Florida.
Later that night the union line had broke and most of the troop had retreated to Jacksonville. Union forces had 1,861 men either
