In the past week I visited Museum of Art's and Sciences also known as MOAS. Walking through this exhibit a few pieces of art caught my eye. The art work Florida Dreamscape VIII 1984 by Steven Lotz in the Florida paintings really drew me in. Looking at this painting done with Liquetex acrylic on gesso board really spoke with color. The wet liquetex acrylic gives the painting a very wet stature. Making it seem soft yet saturated with color. The Organic shapes on the Lotus flower gave it a distinct place on the board, standing out more than other objects. While the curved lines on the bird with accents of the leaves really brought it to life to show you about life surrounding Florida. Looking more into this painting you can really visualize the …show more content…
I see shade on a hot summer day looking out into the beautiful nature Florida has to hold. I see true value in the colors as they bleed into one another in the background. Giving it pastel feels of a late evening on a summer day. The bright colors give it such a happy feel like you're somewhere tropical and everything else around you are irrelevant. You're looking past imperfections of this state and drawing in on what is truly beautiful. This painting makes me feel as though the world is a better place just by adding a little bit of color to it. Makes me feel more vibrant and …show more content…
This was A Nymph Drawing Her Bow on a Youth c. 1780 by Angelica Kauffman 1740-1807 in the early centuries section done with pencil and pastel on gray paper. This picture is full of life. It makes you question what is actually going on. The value of this drawing is simple yet complex. As for being a dark drawing you can see the very defined shapes in this two-dimensional drawing bringing to life its implied depth from their position and the mountains behind them. In this photo being so dated you can still see the carefulness in the interpretation of the scale of how far away they are from the said mountains. This dry media gave it that strong sense of importance. In this drawing the meaning behind its importance is that she is said to be drawing the bow on this shepherd without knowing she was using Cupid's

Color: The painting has a combination of complimentary colors that give the piece a warm look. For instance, the yellow and orange provides light to the composition and also add a visual depth to it because both colors reflect the scheme of a peaceful night. In addition, the blue in the sky beautifully portrays harmony throughout the painting, and the black in the background perfectly contrasts with the blue in the sky and the circled white brush strokes…

For this museum project I decided to take a visit to the Perez Art Museum Miami. During my trip to the museum I really connected emotionally with what I viewed, furthermore comprehending my perspectives in comparison to the intent of each art piece. Symbolically the most beautiful piece was a painting of a man, who in my opinion represented modern power. The painting is titled, "Morthyn Brito III," by the artist is Kehinde Wiley, who was born in the United States of America. Wiley finished and published this painting in 2011.…

The "Anatomy Series" was the most interesting piece I appreciated on my visit to the Perez Art Museum Miami. Roberto Fabelo, a Cuban painter, is the author of this peculiar series of drawings. This set of art is based on pages from an Anatomy book with certain representation of human organs and systems. The author uses the original drawing in the page to recreate and integrate it to his own creation. Fabelo's peculiar style gives as a result a series of smart, graphically detailed, bold, spicy creatures: half human, half divine.…

This was definitely the most simple of the displays put here because all of the paintings were lifelike and easy to decipher because they were also more straightforward and seldom open to interpretation unlike the photos in Concentrations 60. Overall, visiting the Dallas Museum of Art was a new and exciting experience because its exhibits really opens one’s eyes as to how art alone reflects different periods of time, cultures, and places around the world and evolves as does humanity. Moreover, it shows how art does not come from culture, but creates it and often evinces the psyche of its…

This particular piece has a caption alongside it, stating “perfection is my right” which also happens to be the title. This provides anchorage to the image like we have learned throughout the course of the semester. The colors are just simply black and white in this – it conveys a lot of meanings based on the location of the piece and because of the artist. The locational aspect of this piece does add value and meaning; the tenderloin section of San Francisco, California is near the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. It has a large amount of characteristics to it.…

Also, the mixture of warm colors on top combined with primary and secondary colors give the painting a delicate effect particularly the three green brush strokes as it adds even more mystery to the painting. Furthermore, the diagonal lines that shape the floor and the barriers of the bridge and the curved lines on the water make a combination of energy and endlessness at the same time because the side of where the scared looking person is, looks completely different from where the water, which is what perhaps reflects the degree of anxiety that the scared looking person was suffering in that particular…
