She then started to visit the Institute of Protestant Deaconesses, which was a training school for women to be come nurses (Florence Nightingale, 9/27/15). The cleaning of the dirty hospital was a crucial key to the survival of the soldiers. Florence, and the other nurses, got to work and took great care of the wounded soldiers (Ridley, 2013). Florence fought for the well-being of of her patients and actually cared about them getting better (Vincent, 2015). Florence over all improved the care of patients from her day in age and on. Nurses today still use some of Florence’s techniques today. Our hospitals are much cleaner and more sanitary. Each patient has their own room, and are cared about by each nurse.
