Take a foot of dental floss, and wrap it around your two fingers, leaving about a 3-inch length free between them. Glide the floss between the teeth using a back-and-forth rubbing motion. Follow the curve of your tooth along the gumline to get into the pockets. Also, be sure to floss against both teeth, not just run the floss between them.
You Have Braces And Can’t Floss Anyway
There are special tools for flossing when you have braces. One method involves using a dental threader that will allow you to stick the floss underneath the metal wires. If that’s too difficult, you can use a water pick to blast the plaque out between your teeth. Always remember that there are flossing methods besides traditional dental floss.
Your Gums Bleed When You Floss
Bleeding is not a reason to stop flossing, but a reason to keep doing it. Bleeding gums are a sign of gum disease, which can form from neglecting to floss in the first place.
